I heard once, about a garden bed that was self fertilising - you had to grow veg in a certain order, like tomato then potato then carrot, and the stuff broken down from the last veg would fertilise the next.
Does anyone know what I'm on about, or what it's actually called so I can Google it?
No but I know one my Dad's set up called a wicking (sp?) bed which has a kind of reservoir underneath that keeps everything constantly watered. Maybe if you search for that your other one will come up on the same page or have a link to it?
Plot rotation? I think this is what you're after. Certain families of veg produce certain chemicals and you should plant vegies from the same family together and rotate the plots every year. HTH
Google no dig garden bed. They are fab. We used to have one. It needs a top up after each crop and you just mulch the last one in. They are great for the disabled and people with bad backs too because they are raised.
