I recently got some african violets and transplanted them into a bigger pot. I used extra potting mix of course to fill in the new pot. Now though, i have these itsby bitsy flies in the house and i hate them. I have to cover all food immediately, cook food with the lid on and they are die everywhere and i am sick and tired of vacuuming them up. They are just a nuisance, having to wave them off. I believe they are coming from the potting mix. I have other recent pot plants too, but the soil seems to be disturbed from around the African Violets, so i believe they are the culprits. I don't want to get rid of the plants, but what can i do? I use fly spray, but they are only a temporary measure.
