Blueberries!

Has anyone had any success growing blueberries? What are your secrets?

DS11 planted a blueberry plant about a month ago, it's gotten nice and bushy but I'm afraid that's all I can tell you no secrets here, we've never grown them before.

Just planted one too in a pot..going well at the moment. It was advised to use an azalea mix potting mix to help.
My Mum had a DF who grew blueberries as a hobby around Gippsland area.
He had great success with them and it's cold down there! He used chook poo on them for fertiliser.
He covered them up once they had started to fruit to stop the birds pinching them.
Good luck...I am growing them as DS1 will eat a punnett at a time!!

Not sure where you are Marydean but I'm in qld and was told from the lady I bought the bush from that they grow ok here. I got a couple of dozen from each bush but they are both dead now I liked them while they lasted but I don't think I'll bother trying again. I also put the azalea food on it and planted them shallow... I had them in a pot, maybe i needed to plant them in the ground?
