Lightbulb Decorating a fridge to use as a garden box?

Ok so that may sound strange however I would love to find a bath to use as a garden box on my decking for the girls to grow their very own vegies but I cannot find a bath, I do however have two old fridges that are waiting to go to scrap metal so I thought I might put them to good use. Fridges however will not look nice on my decking so I need creative ideas on how to decorate them... I thought of cementing them and sticking mosaic stones etc on them but I don't think that it will stick... maybe I should speak to a handyman as to what would stick?!

    Any ideas?

spray paint/air brush? You could do almost any design you like on it!

I've spray painted a fridge before (to be used as a fridge though!) and I can't remember what it was but we sprayed a clear sealer over it....

Could you spray it and then do family hand/foot prints on it? Let the girls decorate it?
Are you going to be laying them down and soil in them like a big planter box? Or upright using the shelving for the plants?
I think it's a great idea for recycling old appliances

Sorry no ideas about decorating, but I did want to say think about getting them checked to ensure all the coolant/gas stuff has been drained out of them because you don't want toxic materials like that leeching into your soil and your veggies and herbs, kwim?

    Thankyou for the ideas .

MD - DH is going to pull it all apart and clean them out for me so it is basically a shell.

HB - I am going to lay them down with soil inside.

Maybe paint it something dark and put pickets or garden edging around it?

Ooooh you've given me an idea of turning our old fridge into an outdoor storage / bench unit.

Hmmmm how to decorate it indeed
