    Any lesbian singles TTCing??

Are there any single lesbians TTC or with kids out there??

I'm 24 - made the decision to TTC as a solo parent - finding a major lack of any others in my situation to chat with - everyone's either partnered, straight, much older, or some combination of the above... starting to wonder if I'm the only one crazy enough to be doing this!!

Would love to hear from anyone in a similar situation... You are not alone!! (And hopefully, neither am I!)

P.S. I'm in Caboolture/Redcliffe (northside Bris)... not that that really matters.

    Hey there!
You're not crazy...... or if you are I am too because yep I am going to be TTC in less than 3 weeks! And I'm single
I'm in Perth and have chosen my donor and everything so now just waiting to start!
So you're trying next in November then?
    I'm Jess by the way

Nice to meet you Jess - I'm Chantelle

Yeah I'm trying again in Nov, my FS decided to take two weeks off so I have to skip this cycle... You're going through a clinic or doing the homebaked thing? Known donor or unknown - local or imported? Just curious

Best of luck with your TTC soon - there's more info on SMC Australia - Google it - it's a single mothers by choice website that's quite handy Also got forums but I don't find them quite as friendly as here so I jump between the two depending what sort of info I'm after...

Add me to msn if you've got it... dreamless_sleeper. Would be nice to stay in touch with someone else going through a similar thing!

    Hey Chantelle,
Yeah it is really nice to know someone else who is going through pretty much the same thing!
I've added you to msn - I assumed your email address was a hotmail one?
Thanks heaps for the SMC thing - I've looked it up and am checking it out at the moment
Yeah I'm going through a clinic because I don't have a known donor. So yeah unknown donor.... and he's local.
So howcome you're doing IUI and not just AI?

As far as I'm aware, IUI is the simplest form of AI that there is... I tried home insemination once with the help of a known 'friend of a friend' donor but that didn't take... And he lives interstate so I couldn't try as often as I'd have liked to. Also simpler legally if I go with a clinic.
My clinic wouldn't let me use local donor sperm for anything less than IVF - apparently the quality isn't as high as the US stuff so the success rate is much lower for something like IUI... they do alright for IVF and ICSI though.

And yeah - I've accepted your request on msn!

Yeah I have actually tried home insemination before as well, but it didn't work for me either. Probably mostly because I didn't do it enough times though and I don't think I worked out when I was ovulating properly and stuff..... oh well!
How could the quality of sperm differ from the guy being australian or american?
