helloooo everyone.. Well we have decided on a month to start trying ..woohooo.. feb-march next yr..so only 9 months away!! Im so excited and this morning a little nervous. I was flicking through some of this forum to learn about things such as nappies and it suprised me to find that there is a variety! i thought I had 2 choices, cloth or disposable and that all I had to do was choose! ummm lol what is BBF Beehind? can anyone indulge me in a little nappy training here? I figured I would use cloth while at home and disposables while im out, mind you given we live in the country and we live on tank water we have to preserve our water and use it wisely, so I dont know whats going to be more economical in that sense cos if we run out of water here we pay for our tanks to be filled. So, as you can see, ive never had to think about these things before.. I NEED TRAINING
anyway, that aside, im busy researching what I need to do as far as my diet goes and stuff like that cos Id like to be fit healthy etc. Does anyone have any advice or whatnot? I have just ordered the ultimate guide to preg for lesbians (thanx for the tip).
Gosh, nervousness and excitement all in one breath..
even though I have had 3 babies I too only thought there were cloth and disposables so cant help you there, but I do normally go the cloth at home and disposables when out ( but got quite lazy with DD2 and have use only disposables)...
we are also TTC in March next year so I hope to see you around in the TTC and belly buddies next year...
You freaked me out a bit when you said 9 mths Arrrrrrr is it that close lol...
Congrats on setting a dat D&M, how exciting.
My partner and I have just got our donor (anom through clinic) and were wondering about this "ultimate guide to preg for lesbians" you were referring to. How do we get a copy. I havn't been able to find anything on pregnancy for lesbians. HELP
sorry to just but in there, first of all congrats D& M, thats wonderful news. its so exciting when your plans fall into place. My partner and I have only 5 months before starting ttc, time just flies!
Secondly, GIZZMO the ultimate guide to pregnancy for lesbians by rachel pepper can be ordered online at bookaholics.com.au I ordered one from there just last month and it got here in less than a week for around $28 i think it was. buy it, its so down to earth and realistic and a bit comical at times lol.
Hi there Tali, Gizzmo and Lea, I just got my book today, I ordered it through Hare & Hyenas online, they have a bookstore in fitzroy st melbourne though!anyway, yes 9 months isnt too far away!! btw, congratulations on your donor and wowza 5 months @ Lea n Gizzmo. there is so much to think about and nappies is just one thing! how are you all feeling about ttc>?
It feels like years ago that we bought our Ultimate Guide to Preg by Rachel Pepper, checking temperatures every morning, using the MaybeBaby ovulation tester ( anyone want to buy one second hand? Didn't work for us as Sal wasn't ovulating, but two couples we know used it to get pregnant )
Here we are, three years later and we're finally pregnant!! Such a long journey, but it's such an exciting time and we definitely feel stronger as a couple for having 'ridden the roller coaster' together.
Good luck and best wishes everyone, looking forward to seeing all of your families grow and expand!
well our ttc journey so far has been good. we are happy with all our plans now after much procrastinating lol. I would have just loved to start ttc now but I really want to finish my studies to be a midwife before that happens in case I have to stop work before then if I fell pregnant now. It also teaches me heaps for my pregnancy. I love midwifery, I have been a nurse for years and its great but midwifery makes me feel so good about my work. It definitely is the nicer side to nursing! So anyway, I should be finished by November/ December as far as uni is concerned so I will be stress free! I'm really looking forward to it. Selena will be working fulltime after our future bub is born but after I go back to work she can have time at home and work part time. Selena is also a nurse so it makes life easier being so flexible with working hours. Anyway, that is how we would like to plan it to be, knowing us we will have something entirely different by the time it rolls around lol.
So SALLY, how much are you selling your maybebaby for? I was gonna buy one the other day and saw it was like $100 so thought I would wait lol. Anyway, let me know!
