itchy / scabby scalp with hair loss! help

I have always had dandruff and it's gotten worse lately so I changed to Organic Care dandruff shampoo (from normal organic care). I was scratching the other week and noticed a big patch/scab and DH had a look and said it was a big dry patch. So last night I was scratching again and picked it off and a massive part of my hair came out! (by massive I mean about 20 hair patch). I have been losing hair all over the place but just put that down to normal hair loss.

Any idea's what to do? I guess a GP? I was reading that coconut oil is helpful for dandruff but not sure if it will help with this

Sounds like a trip to the dr could get you some answers. You may have a skin infection.

It could be an infection or if you've always had it then it might be psoriasis? It's quite common in the scalp.
