dose anyone else get this?? over it.

since my ds1 was a few months old, i get these pains in my chest, it starts like im pushing on the breast bone, sometimes stays like that, but most the time it gets stronger, to the point were my whole rib cage feels like it is going to cave in and its hard to breath. if i can get the kids to be quiet and lye down and dont think of a single thing (very hard when your struggling to breath) it will go away. if i cant lye down and relax, it gets worse and to the point i am gasping for breth, and my whole body cramps up.
i spoke to a doctor about it once, and was told to come in when i feel it will happen next, but each time it happens i never make it out the door or see it coming, if i do i explain to the boys that mummy dosent feel well and they have to sit quiet, and have a 10 min lye down till it passes.
i can never tell how long will be between the next one, i could have 2 of these a day, or only one for 5 months, then it will come back. the doctor just kept telling me she needs to see it happening to tell what it is....

go to a different doctor. You shouldn't have to plan a diagnosis around an attack.

I am not medically trained at all, but from what you describe it could be a number of things I can think of.

Have you every suffered from anxiety of panic attacks in the past? It could possibly be that. But it could equally possibly be a number of other things. find a new doctor and ask them to take you seriously.
