    Glucose

Out of curiosity (because I'm sitting suffering through the glucose challenge test), does anyone know how much glucose is in a 600ml bottle of soft drink (on average) compared to the amount of glucose in the challenge test? Which is 75% in what looked like a 250ml bottle.

63.6g of carbohydrates in a 600mL bottle of coke (about 10% carbohydrate).

Was it 75% glucose, or 75g glucose in the bottle? I know my test (2hr fasting GTT) I had a drink with 100g (I think it was 100g), and it was around 300mL. I think the glucose drink for the GCT is 75g in 250 or maybe 300mL.

I'm pretty sure it's 75g to 250ml :-) I look at them everyday and should know but never pay to much attention to it lol

It said 75% but could have been 100mlmaking it 75g. Was about the same size as those super small soft drink bottles.

It could have been a small 140-150mL bottle with 100g? Which I think would be roughly 75%-ish. I've not heard of a glucose test drink with over 100g of glucose, but take that with a grain of salt as I'm not actually in the medical or pathology profession lol.

M2SCs - my drink was a light green/yellowy colour, and it isn't too bad in taste but I had to drink it twice (two tests) in my first pregnancy and it made me feel ill so I have that association with it and I can't even think about it without feeling icky.

I'm not sure ill have to check it at work. Though I do know in some places you only have to drink 3 quarters of the drink because it gives the same effect.

    It was green.

I'm just curious about the amount of glucose compared to a drink of regular soft drink. I'm weird

That test would be insanely better if you could drink coke instead!

A large fries and a double cheeseburger has about as much carbs as the drink, I'd love to be able to eat that for the test ROFL!

Sorry, I was just trying to compare the two out of curiosity. Just a weird passing thought in my mind as I sat there trying not to be sick.
