DH had HFM 3.5yrs ago. For him it was more like the flu to start with. He was actually taking cold & flu tablets. He then got the little blisters on his hands, feet & a sore throat. Poor DH had just started a new job as well. All they hand shaking he had to refuse to do. Neither DS1 who was about 16mths or I got it & we are not sure how he was infected.
We had to go to an after hours clinic & they took swabs but wouldn't say it was as he was an adult & DS hadn't got it. They gave him some canestan cream. & steroid cream which did nothing. He just had to wait for the virus to go. Our family GP diagnosed him straight away.
My DD had it recently.
She had fevers and irritability for a few days before the blisters appeared. The blisters were red in her mouth, on her hands, feet and bottom and were really uncomfortable. Zyrtec helped.
