Melbourne water smells so strongly of chlorine!!!

Hi everyone,

Hope I've posted in the right section.

I just wanted to ask if anyone else has noticed how strongly our water smells of chlorine?
I feel sick every day, I'm sure it is the morning sickness but I was starting to wonder if our water is good for us or not considering how strongly it smells of chlorine.
Most of the time I just drink tap water and i'm a little concerned.
Does anyone filter their water? Are those brita filter jugs any good?

Yes!
We buy our drinking water.....pure water, the one that comes in a cask, not spring water. That way I know we're not drinking chlorine, fluoride, aluminum or any other crap.
Apparently if you leave the tap water in the glass for a few minutes before drinking most of the chlorine will evaporate.
Those Brita type filters don't get rid of fluoride, only a reverse osmosis filter can do that.

We have a filter connected to the sink, cleaning the filters shows all the gunk we get out. I can't drink tap water anymore.

We have one of those Sunbeam benchtop water filter thingies. It's great! It even encourages my DH to drink lots of water I love that I can get it out at room temp or chilled.

My pet hate is buying water, so I refuse to do that, but the filters are good. Those Brita jugs are fantastic too!
