Has anyone else seen the Food Matters or Hungry for Change doco's?
What did you think of them?
They have really got me thinking! I would love to change my diet drastically. But for us, right now it's difficult, because we live in a small remote town and don't have any organic choices here. Any 'fresh' produce we get is usually half dead. I am trying to introduce more fresh foods into our diets, though my children are proving to be very difficult to convince of the health benefits and would much rather a vegemite sandwich for lunch over salad....

Ive seen both (and several others) and love them.
I agree that it is hard and daunting to try and change your diet radically. I just picked one thing at a time and waited till it felt normal and then did the next thing.
Still far from where id like us to be but better than where we started.
Looking at things like the meat we buy. How much meat we eat. Using sugar alternatives (like coconut sugar etc) etc etc
I am feeling a little overwhelmed with it. Particularly since I won't be able to source so much stuff out here. I will either have to go else where (which is a 3 hour drive to get to any decent sized towns!) or get it online, which means researching and time and a lot of effort, lol! It will be worth it in the end though. And you're right, small steps is the key.
I have always thought that food has so much more to it than just being food. I have never liked eating low fat/fake sugars/additives. Although it is all now in so much of the every day sorts of foods we eat now a days that I have no idea what is good or bad. I guess there's varying degrees of good and bad stuff.

There is a service that delivers organic groceries to homes but it is quite expensive.
I've seen Food Matters and loved it. Saw it roughly 2-3 years ago and it changed me pretty much immediately. I was eating raw foods and as organic as possible for maybe 6-10 months before crashing. Still can't pinpoint why I crashed but I am eager to get back on the bandwagon!
Another great doco that many have recommended is Food Inc. It focuses on the meat industry.
