Wasn't sure exactly where to put this, as there is only a weight loss section, nothing for those struggling with gaining weight..
ANNNYYYWAY..
I went to the doctor today to get a prescription for the pill, which ended up with me getting weighed. My weight surprised me. I knew I had lost weight during my pregnancy, but not that much. I am exactly the weight that I was before getting pregnant with DD1, 58kgs. I'm a size 7 now. The doctor was not happy about this because I am underweight for my height etc..she said I need to put on a few kilos, aiming to be 60kgs.
All well and good, but I can't put weight on. This is my size naturally. I don't do much exercise (apart from running after a toddler all day and going to the park almost daily), I eat a lot of full fat foods, I eat a healthy diet. What more can I realistically do?
I could probably do exercise and tone up, and the muscles would make me put on weight, but would this be considered healthy? What if I lost more weight as a result of exercise?
I was around 65kg before getting pregnant with DD2 and was 60kg the day after she was born, so I have lost a further 2kg in 17 weeks.
Hi Fruit Tingles I am completely the opposite but I know there are other BB girls who struggle with gaining weight. My view (and it's not a professional one) is that if you eat healthy and are naturally slim than what's the problem. As long as you have a body which is functioning how you want it too than great. Are there any things which you do find a challenge with your weight as in feeling tired easily or moods etc? I'd say to address those type of concerns if you have them rather than looking at your weight kwim
I think it depends on what your doctor thinks you 'need'. Have you got enough essential body fat? Or do you need to put on muscle? I think you should find out first whether he wants you to put on fat or muscle. Because the more muscles you have, the more fat you burn.... So if you have low body fat count and you put on even more muscle, it could burn the last essential fats away. DTMS? Maybe eat more carbs? My best friend has struggled with her weight for quite some time (but she was anorexic, i.e. the actual condition, she struggled mentally a lot as well). If you want to, I can ask her what she did to put some weight on! Otherwise I can't help much, sorry.
She just said I needed to put weight on to be a healthier weight. I agree, you can see my ribs pretty much
I feel really tired usually, and my iron levels etc are as they should be, so I would say its my weight thats making me this way?
She didn't really elaborate on how I need to succeed to do this, just that I need to eat more good fats and full fats, which is what I do any way.
Maybe I'll look in to seeing a dietician or something.
