    First time questions

Hi all - i am a 31 yr old who is planning to starting trying to get pregnant towards the end of the year. My question is relating to ovarian cysts... I have just found out I have one, and although it seems it is not a big deal, the pain is terrible. It has been a week and I am still having pain. I know, through some research that it should just go away, but is there anything that I can do in the mean time? I have an office job, so I am sitting all day, and it is the most uncomfortable position. I really don't like living on pain killers

I, unfortunately, have suffered from ovarian cysts for almost 16 years. There is little that i have found that helps, although hot water bottles do seem to make it a little better. most of the time they do go away by themselves, but i've been unlucky to have to have surgery to remove them.

i didn't find painkillers did much either unfortunately, and they aren't fun to live on. stay warm, try a hottie and stick with loose fitting clothes. if the pain is there for more than 3 days, go to the doctor and get them to check it out.

good luck and keep us informed

thanks for the words of wisdom Jenna...I have heard the keep warm advice and have been keeping most clothing as loose as possible. I just wish I could find a better way to work - my boss is very supportive but I have so much to do, it is hard to keep taking time off to lie down! Oh well...I will push through and hope that it won't last much longer. If it does, I will head back to the doctor.
