I had a heap of bloods taken last week after having a chat with the GP, anyway I am low in Vitamin D, have an elevated white blood count that is consistant with a viral infection, although he isnt concerned but suggested I have a booster for Rubella.
I have low immunity only to Rubella (sitting at 32). Thats fine, but here's the thing (I understand that some people constantly need boosters) I had MMR injections as a kid and again in 1998, 2000, 2004 and 2009. The last 2 were due to 'low immunity'. We have delayed DD's MMR vax also.
Would you bother having yet another one? Clearly I am not staying above the low area of the immunity.
I never get full immunity either and I have had the shot often- although I hey freaked out since I work with kids so I made sure I got another booster before ttc each kidlet- made me feel a bit better though only lifted the number a few points!
I'm being given both the rubella and whooping cough vaccine at 36weeks so apparently it has time to pass the placenta and give bub some immunity before his/her own vaccines.
So I guess its something I need to look at IF we do ever consider another pregnancy and it actualy happens! My concern then is that I had boosters before TTC and I had low immunity by the time I actually got pregnant! I do like the idea of just the stand alone vax though. I'm also pleased to see I'm not the only one who doesnt get very good immunity!!! I've had those boosters and had rubella as a child

I'm another who can't maintain an immunity to rubella - I had MMR boosters after both DS1 and DS2 were born, and I STILL have no flippin' immunity according to blood tests earlier in this pregnancy. I'm opting not to have another MMR booster - I'm not planning another pregnancy (DH going to have a vasectomy soon-ish, I think/hope), so I can't see the point. Just my thoughts on my situation though
