    Low In Iron - Injections?

I've been feeling very tired lately and I suspect its because I got out of the habit of taking my iron tablets. Very silly on my part especially as I know I was VERY LOW the last time I was tested.

I guess I'm after a quick fix - does anyone know if you can be injected with iron? I've started re--taking the tablets but don't really want to wait for a few weeks before seeing an effect.

    Hi Fiona,

Yes you can have iron injections. I had a series of about 4 of them. Once ever fortnight for 2 months.

They inject it into the flesh just above your bottom. It does leave a bruise like mark which is just a discolouration that the iron injection causes. The mark does go away though a couple of weeks after the last injection.

I think my iron levels were at about 4 when the doctor decided to give me the injections.

Definitely speak to your GP about it though.

Floradix Iron supplement is better than iron injections ... they are synthetic .. any natrual source of iron is going to be better for you in the long run ..
you can try tissue salts that aid in lethargy and eshaution (both of which i am taking , as im sooo low in iron and v v tired everyday )

quick fixes are (not sure if you are PG , cant see your tic )
    excersice
    berrocca
water (and lots of it )

these help me through out my PG and i still use berrocca if i need a pick me up ... dont use hairy lemon if you are PG or breastfeeding ...
