    Ok I Need Some Help

3 weeks ago tomorrow I had a Laparoscopy done and just now my bellybutton scar has just split open and is bleeding..What should I do? Do I phone my GP or should I contact my Ob/Gyn and let them know or do I just put something over it?
It was looking pretty ordinary last night and I just thought it was part of the healing process but didn't think it would just open up while sitting on the lounge watching some tv
The "glue" that was used came off pretty early as I put a "dressing" over it when I went back to work and it stuck to it and was pulled away when I removed the dressing when I finished work that day(4 days post surgery).

Hun, I would do all of these things. I'm assuming it will need re-stiching / re-glueing, which maybe your GP could do. But I would still definitely let your Ob/Gyn know as well.

Did you have stitches or glue?

I hope you're not in pain, but I would definitely call them both to see what they recommend

Ok I don't have stitches or glue anymore..my Ob/Gyn used the Dermabond(sp) glue for my incisions and the glue came away only 4 days after my op.
I will make a couple of calls and see who I can get in to see.

    It's not infected is it?

    I'd call the ob.

Ok so I have put a waterproof bandaid thingy over it as I can't get into my GP and my Ob was in surgery so can't contact her until tomorrow.I'm not too sure if it's infected or not..possibly could be I suppose

I'd pop something sterile over it, and go into either your GP or ob, depending on who you can confirm via phone can see you pronto ... better safe than sorry ...

I hope it's just a shallow tear, and that it heals really quickly ... but hugs

Thanks for all of the replies ladies. I managed to see my GP this arv and he's given me some AB's to help clear it all up.
