I'm doing something about my dry cracked gross heels!!

This new year I have decided it's time for nice heels again!!!(no, not the shoe type heel, the one on my foot!) I'm so tired of looking at my feral heels and how dry and cracked the skin on them is.... it's pretty gross!

I had a pedicure (ah bliss!) when we were away in Fiji recently and my heels actually looked half decent for a change but now I need to maintain them DAILY! So i've started scrubbing them again with one of those pumistone (sp?) things and putting heel balm cream afterwards and wearing socks.... every morning and every night!!! I am determined to have nice heels! haha

Anyone else got gross feet that need a good repair? Or is it just me?

Oh mine used to be realllllly bad. They seem to have fixed themselves in the last month or so no idea how or why.
Eulactol heel balm is great stuff I used to use it a lot.

Yep, mine are awful I always wear sandals, apparently wearing closed shoes is better...

Anyway, I scrub it with what my mum calls a 'tennis racket' and then put apricot oil on them - works a treat! I put the cream on every night for a week, and then I get bored, so I repeat the process every few months or so, when I really get ashamed

I was actually going to start a thread about this too.

My heels are DISGUSTING! I used to be so good with looking after my feel but this year they've just gotten out of control. I have to start my foot regime again too.

I bought this thing from the pharmacy called "milky foot" which is this weird pair of booties that you wear for an hour, then rinse off your feet. About 5-10 days later all the cracked, dry skin falls off. It actually works! Only I bought it in Brissie (brookside pharmacy) and don't know where to buy them down here.

Yeah our feet seem to get forgotten amongst all the other more important things we have in our day like nappies, hugs, making sure the baby isn't eating the dog food etc

Oh yeah milky foot! I saw that advertised I think in a mag and then today at the chemist I saw it but read it was "one application" and that turned me off it.... sounds good tho? Maybe I should have grabbed one. Better use up this tube of cream first.

Mone have mass crevasses in them and if I wear thongs for to long they can bleed - thats how deep the cracks are!! I am going to do that balm and socks thing too but I have been running and walking at night so I have a shower and flake and forget! I need to do something coz they are terrible!
Maybe after boot camp is finished!

I used to give myself a fortnightly pedicure in front of the tv, but DH hates it when I 'grate' my feet

    Oh, they sound COOL Kaz!

I've been meaning to start a thread about this too....mine are awful.....and progressively getting harder to reach too!! I was just about to buy some of the Milky Foot stuff as it looks so good but read on the website that you shouldn't use it in pregnancy? Guess I'll have to wait!!

I really want to get a pedicure before bub comes (stupid but I want nice heels for labour lol as if I'll be worried about them at the time!) but feel I need to improve them alot before I subject a pedicurist (?is that what they're called?) to having to deal with them! Might look for the Eulactol, thanks for the tip!

    - mine have the deep cuts too and the skin peels back totally disgusting.

Sounds like a few of you are going to join me on my quest for better feet?? Let's start today! haha
I'm so embarrassed every time I am with other mum's for playdates and we are all sitting down on the floor with the babies, I notice my feet and I think 'gosh i hope noone is looking at them!' even though we all are great friends i just don't like them looking like that its pretty gross.

yes! my feet are horrible & my heels are the worst. DP always comments on my feral feet!

i'm always going to do something about them but only ever make a half-hearted effort but then this afternoon i noticed a crack in one of the heels so this thread must be fate or something....

i pledge to join this crusade against feral heels!

Yep mine were revolting too to the point where they bled and it was absolutely gross. My DS refused to come anywhere near them Spent a fortune on creams and it never really went away completely. I have since found scrubbing them each night while in the shower with a scrubbing brush - really scrubbing them and they are pretty much gone now. I hate pumice stone - makes my skin crawl and this way I save heaps of money and don't have to worry about what is in the cream I'm absorbing through my skin !!!
