 Heamorrhoids - sorry TMI i know

I was a bit constipated during pregnancy, and got heamorrhoids - Giving birth made them a bit worse - they are no longer painful, but are still there - i am using a cream called proctosedyl - but they still haven't gone!
can anyone reccomend anything or tell me that they will eventually go?

I had ultrasound in hosptial because mine were so bad when I was pushing, that and the proctosedyl cleared them up, but then I ended up with a fissure, and that's a whoooole different story!

How many times a day are you applying the proctosedyl?

The things they DON'T tell you!!!

i think I actually had a fissure too...don't get me started...

    but...

My GP prescribed me a product called scheriproct. I think it also comes in a cream but she gave me the suppositories. It did help.

I'm fine now thankfully, yikes Trish.

    Good luck.

I still get lumps most mornings after a trip to the loo IYKWIM , they just don't hurt anymore, nor do they bother me. Just one of those glamourous post-baby things you don't realise you are signing up for LOL!

Scheriprot is a lot stronger then proctodysl and worth it.

If they get bad, get the doc to lance them (gross, but worth it). I had some reoccur not too long ago and they burst themselves (erk!) and that was really gross.

HJ, sorry to hear you are suffering from these yucky things...i had them after having my second baby and i just used rectinol (you know that stuff some celebs use instead of botox?) and it worked extremely well from memory i was feeling much better by the second day and a week later they were completely gone!

Hope you get rid of them soon and they never return.

Hey westy! i have tried rectinol and didnt work

Kazbah - can u get scheriprot over the counter - i dont particularly want to see my doc - hehehe

i so want them gone - but i guess if worse comes to worse and they dont go than i guess no one is really going to see them anyway! unlike my belly of stretch marks! hahaha

I was recommended to use Rectinol by my CHN and its worked for mine. I havent had to use it much. You just get it at the chemist.

I think you can only get scheriproct with a script but it can't hurt to ask if you can get it over the counter

Mine are completely gone, I appied Scheriproct twice a day, and then when I had the fissure, Scheriproct in the morning and Rectogesic at night time. I could only use to Rectogesic at night as my baby slept through the night and it can't be used when you are about to BF, so by morning it was out of my system.

    HTH.
