    soy products and estrogen levels

    Hi everyone

not sure if this is the place to post this so mods feel free to move it.

i am a vegetarian and am on IVF.

my estrogen response to the artificial stims had been mediocre for first two cycles so for my last cycle i decided to go off all soy products (soy milk, tofu, soy sauce etc) as i heard they can interfer with phytoestrogens(?). i have also heard there is so much soy now in food as an additive/bulking agent that as a modern society we may be eating too much.

anyway my response to the stims were much better this cycle although i also had a different cycle protocol so it may have been coincidence as well.

has anyone researched this topic or know anything that could assist?
i am steering clear of soy (although i absolutely love it) for the meantime.

any vegos/naturopaths out there that can help?

there seems to be a bit of literature about its possible beneficial effects on breast cancer and menopause. it may lower testosterone levels in men.

my FS thinks my LH and FSH are over effected by lucrin in a down reg cycle which sort of 'switches' off or slows my response to stims when i start them. i am wondering if soy can also effect these hormones too.
