    Sty in my eye

What do you do? I've had one when I was about 10, but I haven't had one since that I can remember...

I woke up with one this morning & have been wanting to pick at it all day because its sore and painful.

Christy, can you get to a chemist tonight? I use Brolene ointment on them when I get them and it works really fast in soothing the pain and getting rid of them. It's an over the counter one so no trouble getting it. I don't imagine there would be any trouble with it while BF as it's only topical, but it wouldn't hurt to check that. I also use it on the kids if they get conjunctivitis too.

I just leave mine be usually. I had them at least once a month in my early pregnancy with Lachlan. Bloody damn annoying things.

Well I couldn't get to a chemist, but I have some eye lubricant in the cupboard so put that in & thats helped ease the soreness.

I was always told to rub a gold wedding ring on them. So i did and it went away after about 2 days.

You wash them with salt water if you don't have any saline solution.

I find that helps with the itchness also.

I second the salt water wash - works wonders for so many ailments!

I had one a couple of weeks ago...I woke up in the morning and my eye was glued shut (with icky goop) and a had a wacking big stye in the corner of it. My DH took one look and said, "Arrggghh, looks like I'm sharin' me bed with a pirate." And the pirate jokes went on for a day or two until it healed. Anyway, the point of that long and somewhat disclosing story is that I sympathise with you Christy and I hope it a) goes away quickly and b) doesn't lead to any walking the plank.
