    Taping feet to prevent blisters?

Does anyone here have experience with taping their feet to prevent blister for a long distance event?
Does it work or is it a waste of time? It will be wet so will the tape fall off?

The best way to prevent blisters is to wear tights/stockings/pop socks. The nylon stops the shoe rubbing against the foot and causing the blister.

Sounds weird but it does work, promise.

Makes sense to me. Do they make toeless tights or toe tights? I never wear panyhose or stockings so I never even look at that part of the shop.

Onyx I've seen a lot of ppl taping their feet to prevent blisters at the trailwalker event. But it's generally not that that causes the blisters. Shoes and socks that aren't worn in enough were usually the culprits.

While I know I have seen toeless tights, many people say it's easier to buy a cheap pair and cut off the toe.

You can get tights that cover only the foot and no other part (pop socks) - many shoe shops have boxes of them for people to try shoes on with, could be worth asking where they get them.

I have done this a lot but when working in a new pair of work boots. The ones to use are the "Bandaid" big waterproof ones. You can get them from the chemist. They are really sticky and don't come off in water (my feet get wet during the day at work and these didn't come off). I would use a blister pack under it (also from the chemist) which have their own adhesive but don't stay on long without the waterproof one on top. Another place to consider putting them in on the side of your smallest toe - I get them there as well but not as bad.
