Although I try I know my diet isn't perfect and I've been feeling a bit run down lately so wondering if I should take some multi-vitamins or some other supplement (like olive leaf extract maybe?).
Any suggestions on brands to try, I walked into the chemist this morning and was completely overwhelmed lol!
Oh and also I have trouble swallowing big pills (they seriously make me gag ). Is there such a thing as a multi vit that isn't the size of a brick?
You can get soluble multi vits but they are quite expensive. There are also powders, or you could try a tablet crusher and then just skul it down in a glass of juice. You should probably start with a good multi if you're not sure, one that includes minerals like selenium and iodine is likely to have a good balance of everything in it.
I take vit D because my levels are low, a b-complex (blackmores because it's slow release), and fish oil for my forgetful mind.
I also add in other things as needed like vit c powder when I'm feeling like I'm getting sick, lysine if I'm getting a cold sore, and zinc anytime I'm having skin problems.
I was going to suggest Swisse Womens multi-vit which are great but they are big sorry hun! Otherwise my girlfriend takes some iron tabs that she swears by - they are from NZ and are Iron Melts or something, she says they work a treat when she's feeling run down. Will find out what they are for you!!
Tan my sister swears by Swisse too but seriously they are huge! It was bad enough when I was pg trying to swallow my pg vitamins and I'd rather not go back there lol!
Thanks Marydean, didn't know you could get soluble ones. Might be worth checking it out. I'd rather not have to crush them up. Tried that once and I gave up cos I'm lazy lol!
