What do you do with a bub that wants to party in the wee hours of the morning?
Hi Ladies,
DD is nearly 8 months and to date has not been the best sleeper. We are getting better with day sleeps and even some nights sleeps are not too bad (maybe 2 resettles per night) but lately she has been waking at 2am and not settling back till 4am. She just wants to party.
I try putting her back down but she keeps getting up and calling out. Most times she is not upset just awake.
aaaagh been there and done that... and every second night still doing it.... its a right pain in the butt.....
at the moment i have resorted to laying beside a cot mattress on the floor and pretending i am asleep, while she bounces up and down like a jack in the box shouting 'cowwwwww, moooooooo'....
*shrugs* i give up
if she's not upset, i would be ignoring it and hoping she goes back to sleep.... i think if she's not upset, just leave her in her cot, you can't force her to sleep, only create a sleep conducive environment and hope for the best!
party time here used to start around that time too! Ds has grown out of it i hope! We would just either put him in the port a cot next to our bed or on the floor with toys while we kinda slept iykwim! then when he started to get tired agian we would put him back to bed! I always kept the room dark so he knew it was sleep time!
Who knows he may be organising a midnight disco right now lol!
Lexie has tendancy to be a party girl. But it is chatting and "singing" rather than upset or crying.
It only started a few months ago, from about 16 months, so a bit of a difference.
I go down once to check on her (just to make sure she is warm enough etc) and to have a quick smoochy cuddle with a bit of shushing and a bit of patting.
Then I pop her back into bed. She will then either go quiet and asleep, or usually chat and sing for another 40 minutes.........
If she gets upset, I go back into her, but if she is happy awake, I just leave her to it, hop back into bed and giggle at her as I hear her through the monitor.....
