    Talking Yay for BellyBelly!

Just a quick note to say yay! to BellyBelly! I only discovered this site a few days ago, and this particular forum today, and I've now been on here for hours reading all the posts (it's way past my bedtime). I was refered onto it by a mum in my mum's group. And it is such a beautiful place!!
It's just so good to see an Aussie site that is based in gentle parenting. I never really knew that gentle parenting was what I was doing until a few weeks into this motherhood thing- I thought I was just parenting by instinct!! It just didn't seem right to let my baby cry, or to let him be hungry or feel alone after carrying him around for so many months so close to my heart.
Reading all these posts has been a breath of fresh air amongst all the comments from surely well meaning in laws and bystanders who tell me I'm making a rod for my own back, to just let him cry because otherwise he'll expect me to be there all the time (isn't that what being a mum's about??), to only feed him every 4 hours and if he's hungry in between then bad luck, and of course "My baby was sleeping through the night at six weeks!!".
Thanks girls. Big hugs for you all

Bellybelly is a wonderful place, and extremely addictive (as you already know!) It has helped me (and so many others) out through TTC, pregnancy, birth and motherhood. Its great to have so many different people to talk to and different advice and perspectives. I honestly dont know what i would do without bellybelly!!
Welcome and im glad you enjoy it!!

I agree! My sister begged and nagged at me " Have you joined BB yet?" I was only really just pg and wasn't really keen on joining - only coz I didn't really know what it was all about. I joined and now you can't keep me away!

Awwww glad you love the site so much! The best thing a mother can do is surround herself with a cheersquad that supports her style, then she copes and feels so much better about herself and being a mother. We're here to stay and hope you are too. Enjoy!!!

LR, I'm so glad that you are enjoying BB. Gentle parenting is definitely a major focus of the site and I am so glad that you have been joining in our discussions. I love the support I receive from BB and also the information and advice which sits well with my instincts. I am enjoying your posts so far and I hope to get to know you better. Happy BBing!!

I have to say I agree- I've never found a gentle parenting section before and I love love loovvvee reading this bit of BB. Ditto to "surrounding yourself with a cheersquad". For those of us into gentle parenting, it can be hard to find a squad IRL which makes this place sooo important.
