GD - with Protein in Urine test (Sorry for TMI)

Hi,

Im 31 weeks, have GD, and at my first Ob appt since being diagnosed, they told me I had protein in my urine test........can someone tell me what this means??

All my BSL's have been excellent, but now this!

It is probably nothing to worry about. It is not unusual to have a small amount of protein in your urine when pregnant. It is related to the extra fluid in your body at the moment. However more than just a trace of protein it is also one of the signs of pre-eclampsia. If they did not say that your blood pressure is high then all is OK.

Thanks Alan, much appreciated, was worried for a while, however my blood pressure is normal so hopefully all is well.....does anyone know if age has anything to do with GD?
