What was your one hour GD test result and did you pass the 2hr???

Can anyone tell me what "fail number" they got for their one hour diabetes test and whether or not they went on to pass the two hour test.

I know there is probably no correlation but am hoping above hope that my 8.2 is going to see me ok after the two hour.

    TIA

I actually *failed* both the one and the 2hr test with my last pg, but I never went on to have any treatment for it because the result was inconsequential and didn't really mean anything apart from having slightly higher than normal blood sugar levels. If you are concerned, there is an article by Henci Goer in the 'medical conditions during pg' forum about the con of GD bascially which does a lot to explain how the testing is essentially flawed and meaningless. Unless of course you have diabetes IRL, then thats completely different.

I'm pretty sure I got something like 9 for my first one and then I passed the second one with no worries. I hope yours turns out ok and you have nothing to worry about.

Mine was 5.2 and I did not need another test I think that it needs to be 6 or below for a pass. ( I THINK)

    Hi Jaspen,
#3 pg I got 9 for first and 5 for second.
This time round I got 6 and got told I have passed.

What you eat a few days leading up to the non fast one can effect the reading.
When is your 2hr one? All the best.

It varys depending on the pathology lab that you go to, as with a lot of blood results there are varying scales.

My GCT was 7.4 mmol which is normal as cut of was 7.9mmol.

    Good luck with it.

My short test with DS was 9.4 and i passed the long test fine.

This pregnancy the short test was fine.. but with they took blood this time rather than a finger pr!ck like they did with DS.

snow chickie - hope your 2 hr test goes fine

well after a one hour result of 8.2 my two hour results came back at 3.6 after fasting and 6.5 at end of 2hrs- so an easy pass - yeah!!!!!!!

Kellexx - interesting they just did the finger ***** with your first test with DS Kel, I've always had full bloods drawn even at the first tests.

I dont know what my score was for the 1 hour test, I was just told it was slightly high & I needed to go for the 2 hour test. Will get my results from that on Tues at my OB appointment.
The drink was exactly the same for both just more blood taken at the 2 hour (before, at 1 hour, at 2 hours) whereas the 1 hour they only took blood after an hour
