    Question Plain Drawstring bag...help please??

Where can I buy a plain drawstring bag?

I would like to get a fairly large one, as I intend to decorate it for DS as his santa sack. This is something he can then keep. I wish I had done it for his first last year but better late than never. I have looked online but can only find ones that need to be bought in bulk lots....does anyone know?

I can't make one as I'm not that great with sewing & don't own a machine.

Look around at any local fetes/markets, there is always a bag stall of some sort (with library bags, drawstring bags etc), if they don't have any that are the right side then I'm sure the stall holder will whip one up for you on request. It might even give them an idea for a new line!

Alternatively you could get a nice coloured pillowcase, and turn the top edge over and handstitch it down, thread a cord through...would that be big enough or do you want one bigger?

Also, places like Big W often have fabric santa sacks with a picture already on it, you could get one of those and decorate it further with applique, fabric paints, buttons, whatever you like.

Have you got a friend with a sewing machine? If so, find a tea towel with the year he was born sew up the sides & bottom, turn over the top, put a string through and there you have one. I did this when my girls started school and had to have library bags. They still have them and I will do the same when their kids start school. I don't do much sewing but its just plain sewing so I managed it.
