DS is now using his train table as a Lego table. It's a great size and has a lip all the way around so no Lego falls on the floor. It's easy to move (as DS needs to be wherever we are) and was far too small for his train set so had no other use. ;)
ZF - Looks like you get to leave your Lego together once it gets built...DS gives it less than a minute, then starts pulling it apart to make something else. I'm not even allowed to take a photo normally.
DD2 pulled things apart twice today & got in BIG TROUBLE, she has been told they are to stay together until after DD1's birthday & all lego is built.
Once it's all built & photos taken they can pull apart, doubt the rescue chopper or monster truck stuff will be pulled apart though.
Might need a high shelf!
Wow AF your DD1 is one very lucky little girl! What an awesome collection!
:hide: I'm becoming obsessed. I could easily buy up the entire Friends range. Plus some of the discontinued stuff I've been finding on ebay. I already have series 1 & 3 of the animals and a mini set (Water scooter one) and the dolphin cruiser is on it's way. I really really really want the heartlake city pool. For DD of course lol. I'm also loving the polybag's that are on ebay too. I just wish DS would respond to rewards better because they would be perfect. There are some little christmas trees that are really cute.
DS was invited to a party for a girl at his kindy. So I just had to buy her lego lol. She'll be getting Mia's Magic Tricks and the Fawn mini set. And just because I didn't want to seem lego obsessed - some smurf stickers lol. I hope she likes it.
Obsessed? No way! Lol
The only stuff friends stuff dd doesn't have (or won't by then end of Christmas) is the limited release polybags. I can't justify $15 or so for an ice cream stand. A lot if them were "free with purchase" through Lego shop online. They are cute, but I really can't justify it.
The pool is very cute. When we opened the cruiser and dd was pulling out the slide she goes "omg mum, we have TWO slides now! It's just like my pool!"
I had bizarro Lego dreams last night. Weird "I can't finish this without the exact right piece" kinda thing. But I have no idea what I was trying to build. Or even what piece was missing!
I've been dreaming of lego too!
We have built all but 1 set from her party but haven't started on the ones from us.
She wants us to put a shelf up in the toy room for the ones she doesn't want to pull apart (chopper & monster truck).
We went for dinner & a movie and MIL & FIL left before the movie, MIL slipped money into DD1's pocket and whispered to her, we found the $50 and asked what it was for and she says "Nanna said it was for if the shop was open to buy more lego"
The actual conversation was Miss A was supposed to pay for popcorn & drinks :p
10pts for trying though!
Haha love it ZF! Smart girl :)
I've been dreaming of lego too. Definitely obsessed.
I've made the executive decision - DS is having a lego batman party for his birthday. DH doesn't get a say in that one lol. Not that he'll mind because it's not as if he ever does anything for it anyway unless he's given very specific instructions.
I've bought some of the polybags but I haven't paid that much BG. I got them for about $7.50 each with postage. I thought that was pretty good. But I haven't received them yet so we'll see. I might be sorely disappointed when I open them lol.
Could I please ask all you Lego lovers favour. I live On a farm don't get any catalogues, nearest major towns are Horsham ans Ballarat. I'm wanting to by Lego for me niece for Xmas. If Amy of.the major stores have specials on could you please let me know. I can get a bigger set with some discounts. We have a $50 limit.
Megs, I just saw the Friends Heartlake City Pool on sale for $50 at an online store called Just Bricks. Would that be the sort of thing you're after? The mega blocks sets are a bit cheaper than lego too. All the major stores have just finished big toy sales. I'm sure they'll have more before christmas though. If I see anything in the catalogues, I'll be sure to post in here.
Target apparently has the dolphin cruiser going for $79 this week some time.
Thanks rowellen. I was wanting the friends set. Will check it out tonight. Would love to get her the dolphin cruiser but it's a bit over the budget :(
I've just been looking some more & $50 is Big W & Kmart's regular price for the Friends Heartlake City Pool set. So if you are ever near one of those stores, you might be able to pick it up without the postage fee.
DD1 is building her animals sets on her own with only 1 mistake so far.... So proud of her!
She's going to help me build her horse float soon & I built her emergency services starter set before... She's so excited!
Not sure if this has been discussed already. I can't keep up with you chatterboxes. ;)
Has anyone bought just bricks? Like there's a 'fun with bricks' box & many others. If so what did you get & do you recommend it?
check out bricks to the world (google it) - he has flat rate delivery - and a big range of stuff, probably not as cheap as some of the bigger stores but the delivery is very cheap - and very quick
We have some bricks - kmart have a big box with 1600 pieces for $79 (or one with 600 for $39 i think) - they are basically JUST bricks. they have some other sets available in plastic tubs and things, which have extra "stuff" in them - but for basic bricks, these are probably the best value i've come across. so much so that DH has said he'd like to buy another of the big kmart 1600piece packs (cos apparently we don't have enough when DD wants us to "freestyle" build). these are the bricks DD has out all the time - currently we have a hospital that we built from the bricks, with a carpark and helipad (we don't have a helicopter yet, but the local hospital has a helipad, so DD HAD to have one). we also invested in some doors and windows (about $20 ish for a box of them) and a couple of boxes of roof pieces - just for being able to build anything at all. we have two different sized bases (32*32 and 48*48), and DD gets to just do her own thing. when it comes to her lego bday party next year, we'll have these bits out for kids to play with, and will keep "good" stuff put away. harder for kids to fight over bits when there is lots the same for them to play with!
We have one of the $39 sets from Kmart, the girls love it, I find there are quite a few thicker pieces.
1 set left to build out of Miss Ava's birthday haul, table is FULL, will add photos once it's all done!
WINNING - DP said DD2 could pick a lego for being so good, I'm thinking something substantial :p
