Yup. There is a combination build for each series

Moi, if you go to Lego friends website and choose to look at the animals (I think you have to choose products first, then there is a pic of a turtle at top of screen), you can choose each animal for info about them. They each have a video, and just be lien the video is instructions for building them. Generally instruction 1 is an alternative set up for the animal in question. Instruction 2 is a build that includes all three animals in that series


Picked up layby with Lego yesterday. Glad I decided to wrap early to hide from dd. One box is smashed and ripped. No way would Santa deliver that. No way would mummy for that matter. Layby was in Granmas name so granma will be on the ear path tomorrow! Glad I opened it early cis one of the things I thought was in it wasn't. So now to see if budget will stretch to include it (cos of course it's the one dd had been asking for every time we go shopping for months!)

Do other Lego products have alternate builds?

There are some things in the creator series that you can look at. Or sites like rebrickable allow you to input your sets and see what alternatives Lego lovers have come up with and uploaded. There are also instructions under bricks and more for some of the sets there. And then some generic ones that dd makes from her random pieces. We have printed heaps of them out.

Hanging out to see BG on Friday, but have to stash the lego she has for us :p

C-mas morning is going to be great but we are heading to DP's family early this year so means probably no lego building x-mas morning... Unless it's a mini set!

Girls are getting lego from a friend today ;) 2 sets we don't have... 1 will go with the coast guard set :p YAY!

Very excited for DS, it's his birthday tomorrow and he is getting:

High speed chase
Cargo truck with forklift
Cargo plane
Flat bed truck
Fuel tanker

All lego city of course, he's only really into the city stuff and last year's creator trucks and 4wd ute.

For xmas santa is bringing him the coast guard patrol boat and the cost guard helicopter. Exciting!

Girls got LEGO hair clips made by 1 friend then another got them a police chopper AND coast guard 4wd & rescue Raft! Eeeekkkkk

I know of at least two Lego things she is getting - one from us and one from you lol

Another two at home too ;) the farm box set & the soccer set!

there could be more on friday if you get a bit spend happy in the lego shop looking for that keyring!

DD got the lego friends DVD stephanie's surprise party as a reward yesterday. She was so happy. She has watched it 4 times already and even wanted to watch it instead of Peppa Pig this morning lol! She had to wait though because DS wanted to watch Peppa Pig.

I took the kids to the dentist today for a checkup (OMG That was not cheap :o). She asked the kids what they wanted Santa to bring them and both said Lego. LOL I have trained them well!

My girls do the same thing, even right down to being specific about what lego!

yeah DD is like ZF's DD's - anyone asks her what she wants, it's always lego - and usually Olivia's House/Tree House!

Spent the morning building lego...
The girls each got series 1 animals again bit that means we can do alternate builds, originals AND the joint build all at the same time!

A few double ups or even a triple up of other items & plenty of mega bloks barbie stuff! Spoilt rotten & it's not even x-mas yet!

Tomorrow will be interesting. Xmas at my parents. They have got both kids lego. What are my chances of convincing them not to open them or lose any pieces? Slim to none I think if I know them and believe me I do. Every xmas and birthday they rush through the presents and open things and more than once, pieces have been lost or instructions thrown out with the wrapping paper. Add in the fact that things aren't great between my parents & DH & I and about the only thing I'm looking forward to tomorrow is coming home and helping the kids with their lego :/ Give me strength!

Do you know what sets they are getting? Take appropriately sized containers to tip pieces in if they insist on opening - and make them sit somewhere that they can't go walk abouts.


We have a specific container that we use to tip bits in to assemble new Lego. Dd knows to grab it if we are making something. It's an old Tupperware one we inherited from dh's mum that is in good nick (so can't replace) but had stuff stored in it for several years and I'm not sure it's food safe. I think because we have that one container to use we would have no probs saying no Lego here cos she just knows kwim? Take a small folder to put your instructions in if they open them too.

I want it to be Wednesday. I want new Lego to play with!

Assume all of them for Christmas and take a container each that will accommodate the biggest one :)

Good luck Rowellan....at least you get more lego :dunno: Really hope it goes better than you expected.

After my contact with the lego store online, they actually posted me out the free set I missed out on (it's a cute little Chrissy tree shop), so after a hiatus for a few days from the elf on the shelf (not I don't do the whole threat thing, they just love finding him, but after a shocking week with the kids he needed a rest lol), he's done them a trail with streamers to find the set under the tree. :D

We survived! It was a long & stressful day. Very draining. Lucky the kids were too overwhelmed with presents to even think about opening the boxes of lego. DD got 3 sets - andreas bedroom, emma's car and a pink tub of lego. DS got about 6 - 2 creator (red helicopter & small green race car), 3 city ones (museum breakin, dirt bike transporter, race car & truck) and a copy cat brand one (banbao - some kind of spaceship.). Plus a few minifigures. He also got a reward from his star chart this morning. That was the one he choose to open when we got home. Looks like a big day of lego tomorrow!

I'm hanging for Christmas, girls got 19ish sets (mostly double ups) from
Family over the weekend plus the sets, books & stationary (yay I found it) we will be giving them plus 3 sets for Zara for her birthday! Bring it on!

Totally exhausted after spending the morning building lego with the kids. And cleaning the kitchen, making gingerbread and playing with play-doh. But making lego with DD is very tiring. DS is better but he struggles with the simplest instructions sometimes and it is frustrating. It is worth it though when their faces look so happy and they play with the finished product.

Today we've done:
Creator race car
Emma's car
A minifigure (I think it's a gladiator)
The big pink tub - I made a house and cart for the horse.

Today - digger & dump truck mine, barbie ice cream stand....
They want to build more, I'm buggered!

I'm jealous you all have new Lego to play with already! Can't wait for Wednesday... ;)

I have to put together Olivia's tree house either tonight or tomorrow night. I'm leaning towards tonight. I don't want to stress about it tomorrow night!

I thought DD had lost some pieces from her sets already but I found 4 in my bedroom and 1 in the dining room. I'm glad I found them all since they are brand new sets but somehow I don't think we will manage to keep all the pieces for long. No matter how often I tell her to keep it in the loungeroom, she just ignores me. :wall:

Put it together last night. It's in a black plastic bag under our bed. She should have no reason to be in our room today at all. And definitely not on the other side of the bed behind other stuff lol

It's Christmas Eve! Woot!!!
