My family are Catholics, so are very into all the tradiontal holidays, I think Mum even still hard boils eggs to have for tea on the Sat and Sun night over Easter. Don't think she paints them though. DP's family aren't religious, so they just did basic xmas stuff. Don't know what they do for Easter, but DP is against all commercial and religious holidays, so we don't celebrate them at home. But I did get him a Turkish Delight for Valentine's day (because they are his absolute favourite) and wrapped it.
I've got him some turkish delight easter eggs too, but I don't expect anything back. I've got them hidden, so he doesn't know I'm doing anything for him. I didn't get anything for Valentine's day, but I only have gotten anything on valentine's day twice before, and one of them was a fake flower worth 50c, so it's no great loss.
DP and I didn't get other anything for xmas, but got presents for and from everyone else. I hope he realises that things will change when Brandon is older. He doesn't have to have a religious upbringing, but I'm not missing out on the xmas glow in his little eyes on xmas morning!
