I wish I knew too! Sometimes the new estates are good but to be honest I have only been driving at night twice this december and have hardly seen any. Might ask on FB and let you know.
We usually go out and look at Christmas lights with DD and family - bit of a tradition. Does anyone know where the good ones are to go and look in Western Sydney???
So everyone can benefit - feel free to add other places where there are good lights![]()

my front yard.......hehehehe!!
I'm nowhere near you, but we have this old couple in town where we live & WOW!!!!! They go all out every year, it's out of control....not one part of the yard doesn't have lights on it or in it LOL.
And she sits in a chair dressed as Mrs Clause knitting, he sits at the gate with a Santa hat on handing out Candy Canes & the dog wears reindeer ears.....it's great. We took DS there a week ago & he loved it....especially the new addition of the train set!
There are always some in (I think) templestowe. It is near the big round about with the apple peel green skulpture thing. You need to go to the side closest to Warrandyte - just before the gardening place.
We just got back from The Boulevard in Lower Heidelberg - there were some good ones but it wasn't as good as I was expecting.
If you walk through the Butterfly Toner Reserve in Eltham, there are a couple of good ones in there (it's the backs of houses)
Diamond Creek has some lovely lights
If I think of more I'll come back
We take the kids to Lakeside Drv in Lilydale every Christmas Eve.
On the Gold Coast- GOld Coast City Council has a competion, you can google it and it will give you the address of all the winners and entrants. THere are some amazing ones this year- definitely worth a look!
The Cascades near Camden / CampbelltownLast year's NSW winning house for all the light competitions was there
We're going on Wednesday night to check them out.
Otherwise there are always great ones on Lagonda Drive in Ingleburn & all around Chipping Norton.
ETA: I just googled "best Christmas lights in Sydney" and there is an awesome website that lists stacks of streets and suburbs from all over... That might help & it also includes others states for everyone else.
:yeahthat: What Sarah said- the lights at the Cascades are incredible. One house even has a fake front on it, so it looks like a toy workshop. So cool!
In Townsville, Kirwan and Cranbrook have the best lights. You just drive down the main streets and you can see them.
