Help! Gift ideas for 6 and 8 year old girls

Yesterday DD's family day carer gave us a CD with pics and videos of DD taken through the year. After seeing it, I really want to get a small gift for each of her daughters, aged 6 and 8, who DD absolutely loves. Any ideas?

Riot have little art sets in cd cases for $2.99
If you can sew you could make them bags/pillows, etc
Buy plain tote bags & paint on them with fabric paint (or give them plain tote bags & fabric paint so they can decorate it themsleves)
Notebooks, hair accessories, Kmart have little barbie heads that you can do the hair on for less than $10 (They're about the size of an orange)

ETA - you could give them a Christmas story book & write a message inside the front cover

* Cute little notepads and pens/pencils, glitter glue, etc. (you can get some cute sets from places like Big W in the stationary section).

* Necklaces.

* Purses.

* Christmas stockings (the ones with lollies, etc. in them)

Thanks for the ideas ladies. DH just called to say that he found a "box of creative fun" at Kmart full of paint, crayons, paper etc. Phew. Now the Christmas shopping is complete.
