Letters from Santa

So who does it? Who sends letters to their kids from Santa?

I have a whole stack of customisable letters to send each year, so if anyone wants, I can post a few My favourite is the baby's first Christmas one I did one for each of the kids in my mum's group in 2005 and they all loved it. This year will be fun cos I'll actually post them, Zander loves getting mail so will be so excited.

last year I bought DD a book all about Santa and his work etc - left it out one night with a letter from Santa too, she absolutely loved it and still talks about it.

She wrote a letter to santa the other night but I havent managed to get any xmas paper to send her a letter back!

Our toothfairy also has an email address, she thinks its so cool that "toothfairykiss" emails her

Ooooh Sarah, you read my mind!

Me and DH sat down with the kids last weekend and "wrote to Santa" and we "posted" them yesterday. So last night I did all the replies. And wrote about all the things Santa has noticed that they have got up to this year, LOL! Good and bad!

Then I printed them up on Christmas printer paper from the $2 shop, and laminated them. We are visiting Santa this weekend, so once we have photos of that, I will then include a copy of the photo with each letter, & post them so they get them in about 10 days time........

(Then my plan is then to scrapbook the lot..........)

Charlie and Lexie are not all that fussed, but Olivia is beside herself with excitement over Christmas this year, so it'll be fun...........

Oh and by the way, did you know that Santa manages to do all the kids in one night as he bends space time, wormholes you see !!

Thanks Kitt3n - I didnt know thats how it was done, but will be able to pass it onto DS next time he asks.

We are writting the letter this week (first time he is writing one - I need to very subtley suggest what he should write so that he dosent get dissapointed on the day when he doesnt get the very expensive and much too old for him thing that he says he wants) and DH and DS going into the city (Melbourne) to post it at the big red box on the weekend. Apparently you get a reply... has anyone else ever sent Santa a letter via the big red Santa post box in Melbourne?

Baby's First Christmas

Dear Baby .........,

Merry Christmas! I've been making my list and checking it twice and I've discovered that you are new on the list of nice little boys/girls this year.

I know your mum and dad are very happy to have you as the newest member of their family. They love you very much.

The reindeer and I are looking forward to bringing you lots of joy at Christmas and for many years.

This year your mum and dad asked me to bring you something special and I promise to do my best. But you have to promise to go to bed without any fuss on Christmas Eve so the reindeer and I can come to visit.

I know your family is thrilled to have you spending Christmas with them and the reindeer and I are very excited that we get to visit you on your very first Christmas.

I just had to take a minute to write and tell you that I am very pleased with the good reports that I have received about you this year. I see that you, {brother & sister's names} are near the top of my list of good boys and girls. You have been so good that I'm bringing an extra special present just for you.

Everyone here at the North Pole is very busy preparing for Christmas Eve. Mrs. Claus has just finished fixing and cleaning my red suit. It had so many holes in the knees and elbows from sliding down all those chimneys last year that I almost needed a new one. It was just so dirty from all that black soot. Thank goodness it looks like new now and my boots have been polished too.

Very soon I will be on my way to visit you in {suburb}. {Name}, please leave out something yummy for me to eat and drink on Christmas Eve. I'll get really hungry by the time I get to your house. Keep up the good work and have a Merry Christmas.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!

I’ve been making my list and checking it twice, and I found out that you are on the list of {age}-year-old boys/girls who have been nice this year. I am so pleased that you have been such a good boy/girl and you are right near the very top of my good list! That makes me so happy! The elves have made several wonderful presents for you for being so good this year.

We have been very busy at the North Pole getting ready for Christmas. Mrs. Claus has been baking biscuits, the reindeer have been practicing their flying, and the elves are building lots of toys. I know that you want {present} and I’ll do my best to bring you something that you’ll really like.

I’m looking forward to visiting you at Christmas and seeing you and {siblings names}.

Be sure to go to bed early on Christmas Eve because the reindeer can only stop at houses where the good little boys and girls are already asleep. And don’t forget to leave out some carrots for the reindeer and something yummy for me because we get hungry delivering so many toys all around the world.
