Best time to visit Broome?

Well we had our heart set on getting married in Broome in March 09, however I have just checked out what the weather is like at that time of year, and its their monsoon season!! So what is the best time to visit Broome?

We visited in late June a few years back.Not sure if it was Monsoon season then but it was absolutely stunning whether.I loved it.
It would be a beautiful place to get married.

We honeymooned there in the second half of October. This was just before storm season was supposed to start (sometime in November) but that didn't worry me too much because I love storms and was interested in seeing a spectacular tropical outback storm....but it was just the most gorgeous weather the entire time.

Try and time it so you are there for the full moon - the moon shining on the Indian Ocean creates this visual impression of a stairway of light leading up to the moon. We missed this...I so would have liked to have seen it.
