    Question directions through brissy

My mum & I are heading up to Noosa this morning, yay!

So anyway, I was looking at the best way to get from south brissy up to north, obviously avoiding the tolls (glad my sister reminded me of that!)

Do we have to go through the middle, or is there an easy way around it, without getting lost? whereis reckons to follow the pacific hwy all the way in, then the bruce hwy out.

I thought maybe all you locals in the know might have a better idea? DH & I made it down that way from bribie 4 years ago without killing each other, lol, but i hate city driving with a passion! (the reason i never, ever go to the city!)

guess i'll try being not so stubborn & let mum drive my precious through there... then I can freak & stress from the passenger seat

Hey Hun, if you want to miss the tolls and avoid the Gateway Bridge, then yes... You'll have to go through either the CBD or go through the Valley.

You could actually go through the new Clem 7 tunnel with a cheaper toll of $3 each way, and that will miss the Valley all together.

Let me know if you want directions xo

Your much better off being slugged the gateway bridge toll & have FAR LESS stress then going through the city! I'm pretty sure the bridge toll is cheaper then the clem 7 (correct me if i'm wrong) and by the time you weigh up the cost of fuel going the long way round (through the city) with the stopping & starting of lights ect (obviously not in clem7 tho) The bridge is the better way of going & virtually no risk of getting lost too! just get on the motorway all the way there! quickest, easiest & cheapest in my books!

i would just pay the toll you will add at least 15 mins to your trip I reckon by going through the city! So you would be paying for the extra fuel anyway! The gateway is awesome now! Good luck x

Also, you could go Centenary Highway, through milton and then through the inner city bypass. You still get a teeny bit of city driving but its not hardcore like going through the valley kwim?
