    Cool Its travelling time...help plz!

    Ok so its miss Jasmines 1st birthday next month and cos all our family and friends are in NSW and to slack to come to us....we are making the trek again..i say again cos we had to last year as well for Chelsea's 1st birthday.

    So the plan is:

    * Thursday 23rd Oct leave home around 9-930pm
    * Arrive Friday at mums around 7/8am in Bowral
    * Party Saturday
    * Sunday 26th drive to Newcastle to see DH's family
    * Monday rest in Newie
    * Tuesday Leave Newcastle and start heading home, more then likely stop over night in Albury
    * Wednesday arrive back in Melbourne

    So do you think this is going to be too full on with the girls?

    Anyone know of good CHEAP accomodation places in Albury?

    Jasmine is rear facing now...considering the amount of time she will be in the car....do you think i should turn her so she can see and be a bit more comfy sitting up rather then laying down so much?

    Any tips?
    Last time Jas was 4 weeks old and Chelsea 12 months so was pretty easy travelling..but now it think it will be a nightmare

    Huge TIA

    I probably wouldn't change Jasmine just for the trip. If she is comfy being rear-facing, then leave her that way.

    I don't think the travel sounds too full on but then again, DH and I travel from Townsville to Melbourne every 6 months or so by car. This year we will be going via Adelaide and Canberra. Sucker for punishment, aren't we!!

    All I can recommend is have some toys ready to keep them occupied and maybe some snacks. That should distract them. We are looking at getting a DVD for the car to attach to the back of the headrest of the front seat. Yeah, hours and hours of Wiggles, High5 and the Night Garden. What joy!!

    Also extend the rest stops for 30 minutes or more and run them ragged. Take a ball etc or play chasey. Something to get them moving. This should stop them getting too restless.
