DP got his friday morning :) it didnt show in his account late thursday night (his pay had gone through as usual) so we got a surprise halfway through the day when i used the ATM lol

A guy at Andrews work has received his apparently. I am over Andrew sending me an SMS daily to ask if it is in the bank !! Can he not wait till he gets home and asks. This $900 isn't bothering me, cause I said if/when we get it Andrew can spend it how he sees fit. Hence why he is asking about it all the time LOL.
our cheques arrived yesterday so we'll bank when we go to town tomorrow. rates and rego will be paid next week (early rego for the first time ever!)
i heard that they were doing a set number of random postcodes per state per day - so they'll get to you. only so much Australia Post can deal with at once as well as the ATO and banks. it would be done very similarly to the FAO stim packages - spread over a period of time so as not to overload and crash the system...

maybe its getting paid out in the order that people lodged their tax returns if you lodged early you get an early payment etc
don't know how they think it is going to help economy as sounds like most people are paying off debt not going on a grand spend up
Well DH was a week late putting in his tax, so that doesn't work.
If people are paying off debt such as credit cards, then essentially they are making room on the card for more purchases in the future - therefore spending still, but a bit later on...
The less debt that someone has hanging over them, the more likely they are to relax about spending in the future on non-essential items, so I don't really see that there is much difference in the long run?
Thank god I'm not the only one waiting so patiently to be stimulated. Where is our money!! I want to buy bubby some furniture and DD a trampoline for her birthday. I can't spend if rudd doesn't give it to me. Just trying to be a good citizen, LOL!

we're not entittled to it. Dh earns over the threshold and I earned under last yr as I was on mat leave for part of the year so effectively didn't pay tax (got all the tax I did pay back). So we miss out. And cause the kids aren't at school yet, we miss out on that.... We miss out on it all. I don't think it's very fair. We get NO help from FTB's and no stimulus payments.

And no I don't think it has to do with when you do your tax return. I did mine very very early and I still haven't received my stimulus payment.

Thanks Mbear. Wrote to my local member of parliment and he rang me 1 hr later. He was a little sympathetic, but basically it's tough luck. But ur still better under us. Yeah right. Miss out on FTB B now AND these payments. Go figure.
