commuting to and from the sunshine coast

We're thinking of getting out of Brisbane and moving to the Sunshine Coast. I'm from there and it is home for me, I would also like to bring our kids up where I grew up. I look at the traffic report in the morning and it is horrendous on the Bruce Highway heading into Brisbane. DP would need to commute 4 days a week for 6 months and then he's back on shift work so it wouldn't be so bad. Can anyone give me their experiences with a commute (if you do it)? Thanks!

Just came across this thread, been a while so you may not need to know anymore.
I used to do the Brisbane to Sunny Coast everyday and the other side was always almost stationary from Caboolture into town. I would never have wanted to be doing the inbound route! I would much rather spend 2 hours on the train than 2 hours sitting in traffic on the highway.
