Congratulations Arimeh! Love the name for your little boy. Best wishes for a smooth recovery, and lots of squishie cuddles to keep you busy.

I will be having the 20 week ultrasound soon ish, and for the first time am contemplating finding out sex before baby is born. I think it is because i am finding it hard to connect while i am getting no indication they are in there, other than getting fat and uncomfortable and putting restrictions on myself. But then, i think maybe i just need to hang in there for another month and i will be feeling bub and i will have the pondering of the question and the anticipation coming up to the birth to help me through the more challenging time at the end.

DH has no interest in finding out, but he is not the one that has to cope with all the difficulties of carrying a baby.

Has anyone done different things for different pregnancies? Did it work for you?

Has anyone done different things for different pregnancies? Did it work for you?

I found out with my first, there was no question, I just knew I wanted to know. I loved that moment and suddenly felt like he was his own whole little person, not just a part of me.

Second, (but first with Hubby) he wasn't to keen, but I was. He eventually wanted to as well so we did.

Third, he really wanted to wait, so I went along with it. I don't feel particularly connected during pregnancy, and noticed it the most this time. I also assumed this one was a girl (after the first 2 boys.) At about 38 weeks my 2 year old told me it was a boy and I suddenly felt a connection.


This time we found out. (Baby boy number 4)
The other kids were really wanting a girl and I selfishly wanted time to prepare. I also just prefer knowing.
We need to buy stuff again since we got rid of a lot after number 3.



I suppose I am glad I at least tried the wait-and-see approach, but to be honest, I didn't love it. I didn't have some special moment when he was born and discovered he was a boy. (I had a fantastic birth and was so thrilled to have my baby, it was just like "oh, penis." )
I just feel a tiny bit guilty sometimes like I have gone against nature by finding out, but we all find out eventually so I don't care.

Started labouring at home at 10pm, then transferred to hospital around 4:30am for an emergency csection.

They had a rough start, but both mum and bubs are doing well now.

I for one would love to congratulate Arimeh on doing such an amazing job and sending all my best wishes to her and the rest of her family. Felix apparently means lucky, and he is definitely one lucky little man. May he continue to fill your families life with lots of luck xx

Congratulations Arimeh! What was meant to be happened, you have your bubba in your arms now healthy and strong and hopefully feeding like a champ, how he got there isn't important anymore as long as he's healthy .

Welcome back Smoke Jaguar! i had to look at some of your old posts to work out who you are.

Had 20 week ultrasound today. Everything looks good. Am happy to have last external involvement this pregnancy, should be able to just grow my baby and birth it now.

Decided not to find out sex, so will have to wait now til February sometime.
