Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21
Mine would be rather uninspiring :) it's our master bedroom (but we use it as a spare room as it's too far away from the kids rooms). So it's a large room with ensuite. I have a queen bed, the babies stuff a space for the pool and some fairy lights put up :) but it's clean and looks like I'm going to have a baby soon so it makes me happy to be in there. I have my little pink, little blue and neutral clothes all sorted in different drawers. All my cloth nappies washed and ready..... Getting here.
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21
no real birthspace here yet - I have grand plans of setting it up during early labour as it's our dining area that we still use multiple times a day....my last birth was 42 frikking hours so if it's anything like that I'll need something to keep me occupied lol...it won't be much anyway, just the pool and some candles & fairy lights :) If it doesn't happen I'm not too fussed...as long as there's a pool I'm ok with that
still no baby here...though I'm only at 40wks tomorrow so still plenty of time. I'm going to bed each night with the house clean (getting sick of mopping) and everything ready to go...had a few big tightenings overnight but it all fizzled out. As much as I want to meet this baby I'm pretty pleased s/he has stayed put until spring - DH, DS and I are all spring babies so we're keeping up our trend! That is, unless this baby comes in the next 3 hours....not likely
Lady bug, phyreply & Tegam - thinking of you all in your last days/weeks xxx
Meow - how is your babymoon going? I looooved reading your story and seeing your pics on the FB group!
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21
I've never set up a lot for a birth space. Last time was our master bedroom with ensuite that we didn't use because it was too far from the kids too (why are houses made that way??). I really wanted orange so we painted a feature wall behind the pool and cleared out my husband's desk that was usually in there but no extra trimmings. This time it's a different house and I was just having a pool in the corner of our bedroom. I hung a mobile up nearby that a friend had made and that added a nice energy but that was all I did. All the stuff we needed was just in a box in the wardrobe to pull out during the birth.
I'm going well e_p. Those photos got a lot of likes! I'm so glad we have them and I was able to share about our birth... it was a great experience and it really adds a (virtual) spring in your step post-birth to be able to be excited about the birth. Babymoon is going well. I pulled a neck muscle while giving birth though and with the baby carrying and feeding it's taking a while to get better so I'm in some pain. Would love some chiro or something but I can't really leave the house yet. I had a second degree tear which I didn't get stitched so I'm stuck in the upstairs of our house keeping my legs together. Which means my husband is literally doing everything for me and I jsut put in food orders for the kitchen. Which is awesome! First couple of days my husband looked way too tired though as he was also up at night helping me with painful breastfeeding latches and crying. But the past couple of nights baby has been sleeping 4 hours stretches and I can feed her on my own so he's more rested and I feel like we're doing better as a family. I'm the happiest I've ever been postpartum. No milky day blues or tears. Yay for a better diet and consuming the placenta this time around!
So excited to see more babies on the way soon! xx
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21
Your garage looked perfectly set up meow :)
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21
After me yelling "get towels!!! We're over concrete!"
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21
See how romantic is that :) who needs fairy lights at the end of the day we just want our babies in our arms!
(note to everyone reading that was a off handed comment, not a 'all that matters is a healthy baby' put down)
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21
I was missing a lovely warm pool at that point though
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21
Or in fact anything comfortable to birth on rather than the concrete! I think she will love her story! Who had the boys in the end?
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #21
Haha meow, that's exactly what I was yelling to DP on the tiled floor of the ensuite. You rock, meow!
