Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Our photographer did such an amazing job! Esp considering she had little to work with for the labour part haha When we got the pictures and film I have no idea she recorded so much of that morning so it was a very pleasant surprise to have the bits of the boys meeting the baby for the first time. It was also cool to see Kit born, they all talked about how alert he was coming out and how he looked at everyone but seeing it was mind blowing!
Ive written my birth story up just havent posted it yet. And nope, didnt end up having time to use the birth pool. By the time the midwife arrived I knew Kit was so close to being born there is no way they could have got me off that bed lol

Hi Freya... I would love to se the film. Great birth story, am so pleased you got a homebirth for number 5!!!

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
I would love to see it to Freya if you don't mind ☺ it sounds wonderful. I am glad things are going well.
My routine runs better when DH is not here too. What is itvabout daddies that excite and distract kids ☺.
Cricket, if your still popping in. I am so sorry. I hope your doing okay.
32ish wks now. Starts going even faster when fortnightly visits start. DH has been away for a week, will be home sometime today and will be away from April 6th until May 8th so things will probably stay at this time is flying rate.
Everything is going great though. Finally narrowed down my birthing area options to two places. One is a carpeted area, so not sure about that but it is a room so more closed off. The other is the room behind our lounge that leads to our backyard. Bit strange sounding but it is a room with no clear name. Problem is it is right in the open and next to the toyroom.

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Hi again ladies!
Ummmm...... I think I might be back. :o
We were supposed to wait a month before TTC again, and we tried, but we had one little slip up, and there's a faint line on the pregnancy test this morning.
My guess is that I'm due somewhere in the neighbourhood of December 12. Not so surprised - I've been suspecting something was up for a few days now. I have a much better feeling about this one - I think it's going to stick. I'm also thinking pink. :) But I've been wrong more than half the time with my guesses so far. Time will tell. :)
Hope all is well with you!
And Freya - I'd love to see your birth video!

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23

Congrtulations and good to see you back so quickly.
33weeks now, just waiting waiting waiting.

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Congratulations Cricket, and welcome back. How are you feeling?
-
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Thanks! Feeling OK. Pretty exhausted currently, but I'm also battling a head cold, so that probably has something to do with it. No nausea yet, really, but I'm expecting that to start around 6 weeks or so. We'll see. I'm booked in with the midwives again, but I won't see them until about 10 weeks. I'm debating talking to my GP about an early scan, just to make sure all is well. She offered to do that for my next pregnancy when I saw her after the miscarriage.
Freya - your birth video is really lovely. Such a little sweetie! I loved the shots of him looking around so alert and content, snuggled up to you, and also where his siblings come and meet him. :) Great memories, and so special to have them on video. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Quiet thread! How is everyone? Kazzo - how's the waiting treating you?
I haven't been around this thread enough to know if anyone else is getting close...
I'm definitely feeling this pregnancy more. Tired and nauseated, but thankfully not quite as light headed as with DS last time. I was nonfunctional. Not a fun time. Things are plodding along slowly here, but so far so good. And after supper these days I look about 6 months pregnant. So bloated! Crazy.
Hope everyone else is well!

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Cricket, I am hayppy things are going well for you :)
Still just waiting. My body got angry with me last night so I am taking the warning and relaxing. It ia a bit hard with 3 kids and DH away though.
-
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Aw, Kazzo - parenting on your own is super tough! Take it easy on yourself. Will your DH be back soon? Hope you're doing ok.
-
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Massive congratulations to the new baby on board!
And Kazzo....so close now! super lovely...and yeah, i can only imagine just how hilarious the concept of 'rest' is with 3 kids to look after as well lol. I have no idea if i will ever have the energy for another pregnancy with my three crazy ladies lol

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
DH will be home on the 8th so just under two weeks.
I start off feeling great in the morning but by mid afternoon the sciatica kicks in and that is probably the worst. Everything else is fine. This pregnancy I am all bump, I have not put weight on anywhere, not even love handles, makes me wonder if that is why the pain is worse this time.
I was not sure if this would be our last but this back pain makes it easy to think it may be.
But I am feeling good otherwise. Very excited to meet bubs and that it will be in the comfort of our home. I asked a friend to come along and take some photos. More for after when the kids come to meet bubs and our first bonding moments.
-
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Have you tried physio for the sciatic pain at all? I've heard from others that it can be a big help. Either way, I hope you get some rest, and that baby doesn't make you wait too much longer! (Well, until your DH is home, maybe, I guess. :) ) Having someone take pics after is a great idea. Those are such special memories, and it can be easy to miss the moment with the camera, because you're busy with everything else.
-
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Thankfully the backpain has really eased off. 38wks now. I love this anticipation period. Going to blow the pool up tomorrow. I decided on using our spare room, i can get it all ready and close the door to keep the kids out. DS had his birthday today. Glad no birthday sharing for him. Now just need to avoid DD's next Wed

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Hello again ladies.
I just thought I'd let you know that I had an ultrasound yesterday and found out this baby stopped growing about 3 weeks ago.
Wishing you all the best with your pregnancies and births!
Hope things go well for you Kazzo - I'll pop back in and check for your birth story. :)

Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Thanks so much ladies. This is a little tougher, because I really thought this one was staying. My body still feels pregnant, and I'm not sure how this will progress. My family doctor saw me right away, and together we'll come up with a plan as to how to proceed. Watching hormone levels for now, to see what's happening. I think we're going to take a break from this, and maybe try again in September or so. We'll see.
Welcome to the group MamaK! Go ahead and introduce yourself, and congratulations on your pregnancy!
-
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
I hope this time is peaceful for you Cricket.
Well, I just found out I'm pregnant with #3 this morning! It's super early, and I kinda feel ridiculous even just announcing it yet!!!
I had DS in a hospital almost 19yrs ago, with an epidural, but it was a beautiful birth that I can't complain about.
DD was born in water at the local hospital. I was induced due to pre eclampsia, but I got to keep my Birth Centre midwife and it was another beautiful birth.
This time around, my last baby, I would like to deliver at home, with the same midwife who was there for my daughter. She's already on board, but I have to wait until 20 weeks to book in.
I'm here to get advice, support and ideas for hopefully yet another beautiful, empowering birth.
Looking forward to hearing stories and learning lots!
-
Re: Homebirth General Discussion #23
Thanks MamaK.
BB is the best place for early announcements. :) You can jump for joy here with us, even when you can't tell everyone else yet. I've had four babies at home, three of them in our own bath, and it has been the best. DH was a little hesitant before our first one at home, but he's a huge advocate for homebirth now. It's nice for dads too. I'm sure you'll find lots of great advice and support here.

Re: Homebirth General Discusiion #23
Looks like Princess Kate didn'thave a homebirth after all.
How are you going Kazzo? Did I hear that bubs ended up in SCN? That can be a really stressful time. We had a beautiful homebirth, and then 9 days in SCN. Hospital is not where a homebirth mama wants to be! How is he now?
