    help please

    hi there

I was wondering if there are any public hospitals/birth centres in Melbourne that allow waterbirth? I had a home/waterbirth for my last child (9 months ago) i would do it again, just the cost is the only thing holding me back unfortunately. would love to have a waterbirth again, i am currently 7 weeks pregnant.

    any help is greatly appreciated.

    TIA

I know The Angliss in Ferntree Gully does them. I think it also is the luck of the draw if one is free when you go into labour. I think I also read that the Mercy &/or Box Hill do waterbirths

    Congratulations.

Sunshine hospital does if you fall in there catchment area. They also do home waterbirths through the hospital if you fit a criteria.

    good luck

No sorry you wont be as that is Northern and Mercy areas.

You can always call and ask but I dont think they would accept you.

The Northern and Mercy FBC have a labour pool each and a couple of midwives that will let you "accidentally" give birth in them, but you'd have to be very lucky :-/
