    can you.....

    everyone!

now let me start by saying im not concerned about needing intervention nor am i worried about asking for intervention....

so a bit of a back story....

i have cervical incompetance, hence my angel baby...

so when we fell preg with DD, i knew i needed a stitch put in and thats no problem.

generally with IC and having a stitch removed u go into labour within 48hrs.... not me i requested to be induced on the tuesday, my stitch came out on the friday...

so i clearly dont need the gel to soften my cervix coz its as soft as pureed apple with no stitch keeping it together

so when i was induced my waters were broken and i was given 2.5hrs to get thing moving by myself before the syntocin drip was started, fine by me, so i got walking and things started happening, but not quick enough for my OB's liking ( now i want to add i know i could have asked for more time BUT i was mentally drained after a rough 12months and didnt have it in me to argue my point, and was quite happy to follow his suggestions) so the drip was put up....

now what id like to know is, IF i need to be induced next time, chances are slim mind you, i can ask for more time before the drip yes??
and if yes, how long can you have before infection becomes a risk??

my OB has said im at a higher risk for infection in general because thats what was the final straw was in my loss with DS, infection got in and i got extremly ill and my body gave up......

im more just curious and want to know what my options are seeing i know ill dilate ok its just the contraction side of things that ill need a boost with....

thats a bit jumbles really sorry, hopefully your all mind readers and can work out what im rambling about!

When i had DD2, they were happy to let me go for nearly 2 weeks after my water had broken. i had to have AB's, and come in every second day for a b/t and monitoring. so technically u can go awhile afte rur water breaks. I think i read somewhere that if u get PPROM u generally deliver within a week.
But if your waters had been broken by the doctor though i'm not sure because you've agreed to the induction and thats part of the process. But yes u can ask for more time

Hey Crumpet Summah is a cutie!

I was going to mention anti-biotics like Skybie. Perhaps your Ob would let you go longer if he put you on AB's

im just excited to see you asked the question!

Never question why you did what you did with summahs birth. you needed all the support you got from your ob! in a mixed up f%$ked up world of emotions to needed someone else to be a leader!
