All sounds a bit vague, so probably can't really sayPerhaps there's an inutero growth issue and they feel baby will do better on the outside?
Hope all is well and you hear soon
Well SIL is getting induced today as apparently the baby is SMALL and they want to induce her. I think shee is 37 weeks maybe 38, we dont talk much and she has been vague about when she is due all along...
BIL texted DH last nite saying they were inducing and they should have a baby in the next 18 hours. That was at 6pm.
So we are waiting for the call to say its all happening .. The are in qld... Us in NSW
So I have a few questions?
Do they normally induce if the baby is small?
What is considered small? I only saw her at 6 months pregnant and she was smaller than I was at 5... She is a small/skinny girl though... I know because I dont look huge either IYKWIM...
What weight is considered a small baby? DS was 2955g at birth.. not induced at 38 weeks
Im worried for them? anyone that can answer my questions ?
Hopefully we get an announcement soon ...Excited as for them its their first....

My friend was induced at 38 weeks. They had been monitering her since 30 weeks because of growth issues. Her little boy had stopped showing any signs of growth in the couple of weeks before so they decided to induce. They started induction on the Wednesday and he was finally born on the Friday afternoon. He was 2.1kg when born. They found that her placenta had started to die and figured that was why he had stopped growing. He thrived once he was out.
Good luck to your SIL.
Yeah it seems to be a growth issue ...
Shes been in labour since 3pm yesterday... How long does an induced birth usually take? will they just let her labour until the baby comes or do they have time limits? They were talking c section to them ... her contractions were 3 minutes apart but not dialated, about two hours ago...
What happens if you dont dialate?
With my friend they did the induction very slowly because she (her body) was actually not ready to have the baby. They started with gels, then more gels and then they used synto and finally they broke her waters. She had a lot of trouble pushing him out, to many people telling her how to push and her not pushing right and in had an episotomy and finally he was born 36 hours after the first lot of gel.
I guess that if she is contracting so often but not dilating they could possibly give her an epi if she has not already had one and then see if her relaxing helps. If not it would have to be CS.
I hope things progress for her soon.
I was going to say it depends on how she is being induced..
Gels? Iv? Have they broke her waters?
It can take as long as a normal birth even with induction.
GL to your SiL, I hope she has her little one with her shortly.
And yeyy to you your going to be an aunty.. Again?
