    Big Woo-hoo For Us - Bf For 1 Year!!

    Hey everyone,

    Thought i had to post it here - cos i'm over the moon! Yesterday my little man turned 1, and it struck me - WE'VE BEEN BF FOR 1 WHOLE YEAR!! I had so many problems in the beginning - sore sensitive nipple, nipple thrush, vasospasm, and still get eczema there, but we've made it! If you told me 11 months ago i would even make it to 6 months i wouldn't have believed you!

    I've already been asked (yesterday afternoon) "so when are you giving it up?", I was like, whenever he and I feel like it!

    I actually really love feeding him - its pain free now, and really bonding and enjoyable (except afternoon feeds, when my hypo child can't sit still and does headstands while still attached - but thats a whole nother story!)

    Anyway, lets just hope i post back here in one year - saying we've made it to 2 years!

    YAYYY Yael & DS! That is so fantastic, you must be super proud of yourself! (Oh and I hear you on the headstands....what is with our babies at this age? They seem to forget our nipples are attached and we don't want them stretched we can swing our boobies over our shoulder!)

    Thanks everyone for the great response... so much better than the neg (and they were both from friends who aren't married or have kids...!!!)

    Now i just have to get off my tush and write my birth story down!

    Hi Yael!
    Congrats on reaching the one year mark! DS and I will be there with you on the 13th of Feb! I too had some issues in the beginning and am so pleased to still be going nearly a year on. I also hope to continue b/f until he is two but I will leave the decision up to him. He is an absolute boobie lover at the moment though so I don't see him quitting any time soon. And yes, he does some acrobatics during the day as well and I have to be on my toes to detach him before he totally twists my nipple as he goes through his fancy routine!
