    Commenting on the flavour

Well sometimes Maggie comments on the flavour of my breastmilk. This evening she was saying chocolate when feeding from the right, but then later on when going to sleep she was saying yucky! She pulled off, had a good look and squeeze, had another suck. Went "Yucky Poos!" and swapped to the left. The left then must have started to taste bad, so she rolled over and went to sleep.

Even though I am weaning and secretly hoping the bad taste stays so she chooses to give them up, it is kind of hurtful to have "yucky" breastmilk.

Is this normal? I have not eaten anything new. Very weird

How interesting! Do you think it was the taste or that there wasn't enough milk? Maybe nature is helping you out with your desire to gently wean?

I know how you feel though, Tom went off my milk for an entire weekend. He would drink EBM but not EBM expressed over that weekend. A few weeks later a bag of EBM from that weekend ended up at day care with him and he spat it all over the carer and himself. Doesn't make you feel too good to know that they don't like your milk does it?

Well she wont leave them alone this morning. Driving me nuts. Wish I could work out what made the milk taste bad so I can eat it again (oops bad mummy moment).

Nope, don't run, did a long walk though, but did not exert myself like I do at the gym. Was very upset though yesterday, so that may have done something.

Sorry you were upset hun . Emotions definitely made my milk taste different - went through a break up and had a fair bit of breast refusal

    Hope you're feeling better now.

Right one is off again tonight, but I did have a gym work out today. Funny that it has not effected it before. Not upset today, but have been in a lot of deep thought, maybe that changes things.

Asked DH to do a taste test for me, but he refused

I once tasted my friend's when i'd just eaten a pear. Pears are sweet and refreshing compared to human milk LOL. I found after a run (or an arguement of which there were MANY in those days) my milk tasted off and my left boob (which always had less milk in it) always took longer to recover. Do you drink a sports drink at all? My GF uses those little sachets of electrolytes and her DS (age 18 mos) refuses her milk for about 12 hours afterwards.

No sports drinks. Have been having some chocolate, but I tend to eat chocolate a lot. According to her the right one tastes like chocolate and the left like biscuits

Might have to keep a food, exercise and emotion diary to work this out. Have an ABA meeting tomorrow, so I will see what they have to say about.

Could it be her imagination is a little wild? Rather than your milk being a little off? Perhaps she;s just winding up to wean?

LOL about DH taste test - my husband would jump at the chance!! Sadly, haven't bf for over a year now so he has NO chance!!!

Maybe you should start eating brussells sprouts or tripe or something gross like that to see if it is different to chocolate and biscuits!! (just kidding of course!!)

    (yep, bad mummy here too!)

I think she has a fantastic imagination! Imagine breast milk tasting like chocolate and biscuits!!!!!

Hope you sort things out - however you want them to turn out that is!!

LOL Beckles! At least I am not the only one out there with yucky milk

Happening everyday, so can't be my period, there are days though were she seems to comment more than others. Seemed to happen around O time, so it could well be hormal. Should keep a diary, but I am too lazy for that.
