I have forgotten how normal bbs feel!

    Hi,
I have weaned bubs from bbs now. It has been almost 3 weeks and i have kept expressing til i was comfortable so the milk dries up and i think i am finally there!
The last time i expressed was on Saturday morning (3 days ago) and haven't felt full or sore enough since.

Today, my breasts are a bit tender when i poke and prod. My left breast may have some milk (just by feeling my breast) and there is a tender spot underneath my right nipple (when i poke it). I don't know if i should express a little, but then don't want to encourage my milk supply either. If there is a little milk in my breasts will it dry up on its own? I have honestly forgotton how normal bbs feel! I might have to prod my mums bbs to see!!

I would appreciate any responses. Thanks!

It might be a blocked duct - maybe just express a bit for comfort.

Chloe's advice is good - maybe try a warm compress before expressing and massage the lump gently while expressing. Some milk will dry up by itself, but you probably shouldn't have sore spots. I was pg when Jack self-weaned, so my bbs probably weren't totally normal then, but I don't remember having any sore spots or lumps. And it's more important to avoid mastitis than to get the milk to dry up more quickly. It sounds like you're nearly there though.

    Hi,
Thanks for the advice. I hand expressed a little last night on both breasts and it feels much better. I will express a little each time it happens (not daily, if i can!) I am so over this milk thing. I just want it to go away. Thanks for letting me know that i'm nearly there as i think it will never stop coming!
