Arrow Not sure if it's a BooHoo or a WooHoo...

... so I'm posting it here!

I think bubs is weaning himself... he hasn't wanted a bf in over 24 hours now. He's only been feeding first thing in the morning, and a half hearted one in the middle of the night.

But last night was only a quick suck, then off, and this morning not at all. It was a really hot here and he still didn't come to me for any boob, not even just before bed.

Kind of sad really- I actually didn't think this would happen for a while. On the up side, I went and bought myself some lovely new not-nursing bras today

Seriously though, if this is it, then that's ok. I will miss that very close bond, but I suppose it will always be mine to keep locked away in my heart, ykwim?

    Firstly congrats to you

My little lad weaned at 13 months and it took me by surprise. I persisted offering for a week but he ended up crying and pushing me away so I got the hint.

I had mixed feelings but I'm glad he did it in his own time.

Enjoy those new non-nursing bras and having a guilt free glass of wine (lol)

Oh hun I know how you feel. As sad as it is, there is something very special about allowing your child to choose their own time. Well done for that. You have done a great job, whether this is it or not.

Oh Lori, you've done a fantastic job and even better, your little man has chosen his own time to do it which is great!
You and he have had such a special journey and it is something that you can look back on with fond memories forever!
    Congratulations!

Hmmm... or maybe not right now? He did have one feed first thing this morning- it that normal, that some days they will want it and others not? I'm not sure what's going on now.

Lori, maybe he's just winding down the feeds, phasing it out himself maybe?
I think some bubs do it that way, some days they feel like it, others they don't until it gets less and less and then none altogether?
They're such confusing little creatures sometimes aren't they?
    Hugs to you

    Thanks Janine, maybe that's it.

And thanks Kimmy Yep I am looooving my new bras. First time ever that I've bought spensive bras from a bra shop instead of off the rack at Big W- I figured I deserved it!!
