Not sure what the go is...

My DS has not wanted a day time feed for a week he hasn't looked for it, and refused it when offered
He was having four feeds a day once first thing in the morning, one at around lunch time, one at about 5.30ish (when we get home from work and FDC) and then one before bed. I had no immediate plans to cut all day feeds maybe just one but on his own he has decided he doens't want/need it anymore, so instead i have been offering him some cows milk in a bottle which he guzzles down, (but won't drink milk from his sippy cup) Do i go with this? He still looks for he night time feed and the first morning feed but not during the day, is this normal at one year old?
Oh it's so hard and if he is starting to wean himself, is it because i don't have enough for him anymore or is because he's ready? But i'm not sure if I am.....

IF you are bf less, then yeah, it probably wouldn't hurt to get a different contraceptive unless you like surprises LOL. As for the first issue, it's normal for some babies to start to self wean now, even though they are still quite happy to have milk of some description. I don't think it's because you don't have enough, but if he's still having a bf morning and night, he might just be happy to have it at those times but during the day he is fine without it kwim?

Kimmy, you have done well to bf him for the year. I would suggest though, that if he doesn't want to take the milk from a sippy cup and seems to prefer a bottle he is actually getting comfort from suckling. I would say that's a sign he isn't really ready to wean, from my very 2ndhand POV here! Keep offering him the bfs during the day, he could be 'off' bfing for any number of reasons, AF, not feeling well, developmental milestone, etc, even at one.

I think if you continue to offer (and I would actually suggest not giving him the milk in the bottle, if you are happy to keep bfing it would be preferable that he suckle from you, try the sippy cup and you instead), he may come back to those normal bfs. To have stopped so suddenly suggests to me something else is going on with him and that will generally resolve itself.
